Abstract:This paper discusses applications of distributed control system design that increase the autonomy of the power management and distribution system (PMAD) of a hypersonic vehicle. These techniques employ many local, intelligent controllers that rely on dynamic models of the system and support graceful degradation of controller performance when faults occur. Both of these concepts are described and simulation results are provided.
