Contribution to the Historical Geography of Erbil Province in the Second Millennium BC

Abstract: The historical geography of the Erbil Province in the second millennium BC remains obscure, although nu- merous inscriptional data –compared to other periods- exist. This article is an attempt to reconstruct the geo- graphical setting of the region in a specific short time, when king Šamšī-Adad I expanded his sway to the east Tigris region in the early second millennium BC.
