“…It is believed that N application could increase wheat and summer maize grain yield, but we found that yield was not increased linearly [2,11]. Numerous studies observed that improving N uptake ability is the first step to increase N use efficiency, which refers to the N management level and the plants' nitrogen absorption converted to grain yield [87][88][89]. The present results indicated that the TN under N 360 treatments always significantly increased by 5.4-19.1% and 16.6-32.3% for spring wheat and summer maize, respectively, and by 11.5-26.2% under N 720 treatments for annual cereal yield compared to other treatments; moreover, the N 360 and N 720 significantly increased TN by 30.7-270.1%, 11.6-262.8% and 27.7-266.1% for spring wheat, summer maize and annual cereal yield compared to the N 0 treatment, respectively, over the two years (Table 3), which is in agreement with previous studies.…”

“…6B, D) and, ii) yielded unexpected lower values in early SD with high N rates and high densities (Fig. 6A, C) probably due to a higher crowding stress that increased inter plant variability in N upt P (Rossini et al, 2018) and in %N of leaves (Pagano and Maddonni, 2007).…”

“…The sum of the accumulated heat units during vegetation more objectively characterizes the thermal resources of the area compared to the sums of positive, active and effective temperatures, which makes it possible to more accurately determine the optimal dates for sowing and the end of the crop vegetation season in the conditions of the research region. Applying nitrogen in several ways optimizes the nutrition of corn plants, ensuring an increase in individual productivity and grain yield up to 18 Мета. Оцінити фотосинтетичні параметри посівів гороху озимого залежно від інокуляції насіння та азотного удобрення в умовах Правобережного Лісостепу України.…”
