Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography to diagnose complicated acute cholecystitis

Abstract: Gangrenous cholecystitis and perforation are severe complications of acute cholecystitis, which have a challenging preoperative diagnosis. Early identification allows better surgical management. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (ceCT) is the current diagnostic gold standard.
