Continuously coupled parametric generators and their quantum statistics

Abstract: In this paper the quantum-statistical properties of light beams propagating in a directional nonlinear coupler are investigated. This device is composed of a pair of linearly coupled nonlinear waveguides operating by means of degenerate parametric downconversion. The possibility of generation of nonclassical states of light in single and compound modes, using the short-length approximation, is discussed. Influence of linear and nonlinear mismatches for generation of nonclassical light is taken into account. : … Show more

“…The evidence of DEA reaction channels in chloromethane at very low electron energies has encouraged us to test the surface ionization process in the formation of Cl À from CH 3 Cl, and to apply this technique in chlorine isotope ratio measurements. Previous work by Hereć et al 16 on the use of a negative surface ionization source for secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) studies has also encouraged us to perform our own experiments. These authors obtained a high intensity Cl À ion beam from a halocarbon gas directed onto a hot tungsten filament.…”

“…Coefficients B j , C j , D jk , andD jk can then be determined using matrix U introduced in Eq. (15) and incident values of B j,in,A and C j,in,A related to anti-normal ordering of field operators (for details, see [8]):…”

“…It is interesting to note, that the analyzed waveguide behaves qualitatively similarly as a waveguide with two separated parts with optical parametric processes and with fields in different parts interacting linearly through evanescent waves. This waveguide with co-propagating fields has been analyzed in [15,16].…”
