Continuous Usage Intention Toward Interactive Mixed Reality Technologies

Abstract: Through the theoretical lens of perceived characteristics of innovations (PCI) framework, the main purpose of this research was to examine whether perceived characteristics of interactive technologies—interactivity, hypertextuality, modality, connectivity, and virtuality were related to user involvement, which in turn were related to the intention to continue using interactive mixed reality platforms. An e-survey questionnaire was administered to active mixed reality technology users (n = 268) across the US. F… Show more

“…The wearable mixed reality device used in this paper is the Hololens glasses developed by Microsoft Corporation. The cameras used by HoloLens are divided into environment perception cameras and depth-of-field cameras [9] . The environment-aware camera captures the real environment image and extracts feature points, matches the feature points of adjacent frame images, and reversely deduces the rotation angle and displacement of the HoloLens through the change of the relative position of the feature points, thereby calculating the motion of the HoloLens.…”
