Abstract:New equipment and methodology for the continuous separation
and
purification of chemical species via continuous liquid–liquid
partition chromatography are presented. This is achieved by cascading
countercurrent mixing and extraction steps carried out with slug flow
in membrane-based phase separators. This methodology provides a continuous
implementation of liquid–liquid separations typically achieved
with centrifugal partition chromatography while eliminating several
mechanical drawbacks and limitations and pr… Show more
“…For this purpose, a Zaiput separator was incorporated into the continuous flow system. 21 After several attempts, and the screening of different separation membranes, we were able to obtain the compound 2a from the reaction media by using dichloromethane (DCM) as extraction solvent (Scheme 2).…”
A continuous-flow process for the conversion of functionalized alkynes to 1,2-diketones, and -keto-carboxylic acids, using KMnO4 as the oxidizing agent has been developed. The simultaneous use of pulsed sonication combined...
