Differing from most aquatic species, P. crispus flowers and produces turions almost simultaneously from late May to late October when water temperature is higher than 20°C and the photoperiod is longer than 12 h (Sastroutomo, 1981;Kunii, 1989). The turions begin to germinate in autumn and live through the winter.…”
