This research was inspired by discourse analysis of human expressive speech act as thepart of Illocutionary act. This study aims to analyze speech act to finally describe the function ofthe society‟s expressive speech acts towards Covid-19 survivors. Using qualitative method, thisresearch was conducted in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi through observation, interviews, andrecording as data collection techniques. The instruments consist of the main instrument, which wasresearchers themselves, and supporting instruments including data analysis guides, observation,interview, and recording devices. The data was in the form of expressive words, phrases, clausesand sentences expressed by the society when communicating and interacting with Covid-19survivors. The data source was generally from the society without Covid-19 and from thesurvivors of Covid-19 who receive expressive speech act from the other. The results reveal thatthere were various function of expressive speech acts used among society during Covid-19pandemic such as the function of complaining, cursing, doubting, yelling, and fearing function.Those functions implicitly were represented to prevent Covid-19 survivors from repeating theirmistakes. Meanwhile, the functions of apologizing, condolences, motivating, and greeting wererepresented so that the people without Covid-19 can be the cause of healing for sufferers andsurvivors of Covid-19.

This research is driven by an increasingly urgent requirement to fuse cyberpragmatics instruction with research findings on cyber texts within a multimodal environment, particularly in the ongoing postCovid-19 pandemic era. The challenge presented by this research problem is addressed through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The research framework adopted is the Research & Development model proposed by Borg & Gall. The results indicate that 7.69% of participants found it appropriate for use without any changes, 92.30% found it suitable for use with revisions based on notes, and 0% of participants deemed it unsuitable for use. Thus, it can be inferred that all participants unanimously agreed that the book product of the cyberpragmatics learning model, combined with research on cybertext context, is suitable for use with revisions based on notes. This research has yielded foundational insights into the viability of employing cyberpragmatics learning models as a result of applied research. AbstrakPenelitian ini didorong oleh kebutuhan yang semakin mendesak untuk memadukan pengajaran cyberpragmatics dengan temuan penelitian mengenai teks siber dalam lingkungan multimoda, khususnya di era pandemi pasca-Covid-19 yang sedang berlangsung. Tantangan yang dihadirkan oleh masalah penelitian ini di atasi melalui kombinasi metodologi kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Kerangka penelitian yang diadopsi adalah model Research & Development yang dikemukakan oleh Borg & Gall. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 7,69% peserta merasa layak digunakan tanpa ada perubahan, 92,30% merasa layak digunakan dengan revisi berdasarkan catatan, dan 0% peserta menilai tidak layak pakai. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa seluruh peserta sepakat bahwa produk buku model pembelajaran cyberpragmatics yang dipadukan dengan penelitian konteks cybertext layak digunakan dengan revisi berdasarkan catatan. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan wawasan mendasar mengenai kelayakan penggunaan model pembelajaran cyberpragmatics sebagai hasil penelitian terapan.

The issue of context in language studies has long been the subject of debates by scientists. Internet technology that is developing very rapidly around linguistics has proven to have major impacts on changing the identity of contexts with unimodal dimensions to cybertext contexts. This study aims to describe the determining roles of cybertext contexts in socio-semiotic multimodal perspective. The research data were utterances containing identities of cybertext contexts. The sources of data were divided into two, namely the substantive and the locational ones. The data collection method applied was an in-depth reading method with note-taking technique. This data collection stage was followed by the data classification stage. This means that research data were ready to be analyzed after being carefully classified and typified. Furthermore, these research data were triangulated. The data analysis applied was the extra-lingual equivalent method. The data analysis and interpretation of the results of data analysis was done by matching the extra-lingual aspects. This study resulted in the findings of five determining roles of cybertext contexts in the delivery of intents, namely (1) the role of the cybertext context as the background of the speech intent; (2) the role of the cybertext context as confirming the essence of the speech intent; (3) the role of the cybertext context as an illustration of speech intent; (4) the role of the cybertext context as a provider of inspiration for delivering speech intent; and (5) the role of the cybertext context as complementary information on the meaning of the speech intent.
