“…Hair is in fact considered a good matrix to be used as a biomarker of exposure to metals, and a good proxy of long term exposures [ 36 , 37 ]. The concentrations of cadmium and lead in hair of cattle with bladder tumors from the present study were below those of normal cattle reared around different industrial/urban areas [ 38 ], and yet the concentrations of lead and chromium were above the levels of those from unpolluted areas [ 39 , 40 ].
