The increase of canine population in urban areas, which englobes stray or domiciled dogs, has an important epidemiological role in soil contamination of public areas. This increase contributes for the dissemination of infections by parasites via faeces of infected animals. The aim of this study was to detect the presence of immature forms of gastrointestinal parasites of mammals in soil from public roads and squares of the municipality of Garanhuns, state of Pernambuco, Brazil. A total of 211 soil samples were obtained and evaluated through the Faust and Rugai techniques. Out of 211 soil samples, 49.29% (104/211) scored positive the presence of immature forms of gastrointestinal parasites of mammals, being Ancylostoma sp. (37.91%) the most frequent. In conclusion, the soil of different parts of the municipality of Garanhuns is contamined by parasites of medical and veterinary concern. Therefore, the implementing of integrated prophylaxis measures is necessary to prevent the soil contamination, reducing the risk of infection for humans.

Resumo:As enteroparasitoses são doenças acometidas por protozoários e/ou helmintos e representam um grave problema de saúde pública, particularmente nos países subdesenvolvidos, onde se apresentam bastante disseminadas e com alta prevalência. o presente estudo objetivou determinar a prevalência de parasitoses no município de Itacaré -BA no ano de 2018. Trata-se de uma pesquisa retrospectiva, de análise de prontuários e exames parasitológicos. O estudo em questão analisou resultados de lâminas parasitológicas do laboratório particular/convênio da cidade de Itacaré na região sul do estado da Bahia, para avaliar a prevalência das enteroparasitoses no município após a aceitação pelo comitê de ética, também será apresentada na secretária de saúde do município com intuito de haver melhor aplicação nas medidas profiláticas. Foram avaliados 215 resultados de lâminas no qual foram identificadas 214 contaminações por diferentes enteroparasitose. No presente estudo foram identificadas 214 contaminações por diferentes tipos de enteroparasitoses, sendo que a mais prevalente foram os ovos de áscaris lumbricoides (85 casos), seguido de cistos de endolimax nana (48 casos). As precárias condições socioeconômicas e higiênico-sanitárias são fatores importantes que contribuem para a continuação das contaminações por enteroparasitas, haja vista que afetam grande parte dos indivíduos de todas as faixas etárias.Abstract: Enteroparasitoses are diseases affected by protozoa and / or helminths and represent a serious public health problem, particularly in underdeveloped countries, where they are widespread and highly prevalent. This study aims to determine the prevalence of parasites in the city of Itacaré -BA in 2018. This is a retrospective research, analysis of medical records and parasitological exams. Article history The presence of feces of companion animals in public squares contaminated with endoparasite eggs with zoonotic potential plays a fundamental role in the transmission of diseases to the population. In this context, Cutaneous Larva Migrans and Visceral Larva Migrans are important zoonosis. In the city of Uruguaiana-RS, as well as in the national panorama, there is a shortage of data that contemplate the current contamination of public areas in order to map critical areas for the implementation of public policies to prevent these diseases. Thus, we evaluated the occurrence of endoparasites in the public squares of Uruguaiana-RS through the collection of feces in these places. A total of 87 fecal samples were collected, in which 23 were positive for endoparasite eggs with zoonotic potential. In the compilation of the data, we found higher prevalence of Ancylostoma spp. than Toxocara spp. in not fenced public squares. Compared with previous studies, a decrease in contamination of feces found and collected was observed. Thus, possible causes and suggested preventive measures were raised, as well as responsible ownership and health education to reduce environmental contamination of the city.
