majority of the affected population are young and have a comorbidity. It still remains to be determined whether colonization with CA-MRSA poses a greater risk of severe infection or postoperative infection compared to HA-MRSA. A limitation of our study was that mild MRSA infections after discharge might have been overlooked if they were treated at another clinic or hospital and not followed by our outpatient department. Further study may be needed to obtain an accurate grasp of the infectious burden after discharge from NICU in infants colonized with MRSA during hospitalization.
