Consumers' food control risk attitude for blockchain traceable information seeking: Evidence from fresh fruit buyers in China

Abstract: The blockchain-based traceability in agri-food marketing has brought a disruptive paradigm shift by removing the inherent information asymmetry problem. Likewise, revealing sufficient product quality and attributes information could break agricultural markets' “Lemon Market” dilemma. This study takes the fresh fruit with blockchain traceability QR label as a case and systematically investigates the influence of consumers' food control risk attitude on information-seeking intentions. We utilized online survey d… Show more

“…Different scholars have different views on whether an OLS model or an ordered logistic (Ologit) model should be used for ordered categorical variables. To be on the safe side, this paper drew on empirical practice and used both OLS and Ologit models for estimation [ 27 ]. Additionally, this paper tested the age and educational differences of neighborhood social capital in terms of the self-rated health of urban elderly.…”

“…Additionally, this paper tested the age and educational differences of neighborhood social capital in terms of the self-rated health of urban elderly. To help overcome possible estimation bias due to self-selection by referring to existing literature [ 27 , 28 ], this paper used the propensity score matching (PSM) method to further identify the relationship between the social capital and self-rated health of urban older adults. Before using the Ologit model, this paper conducted a multicollinearity test.…”

“…In order to account for possible self-selection biases and confounding variables, the authors used propensity score matching (PSM), ordered logit model (Ologit), and ordinary least square (OLS) techniques using online survey data of 1058 fresh fruit customers [15]. The findings indicate that customers' information-seeking behavior about fresh fruits is considerably impacted by their risk attitude.…”
