The primary goal of our work is to address the issues concerning the application of sustainability concepts in the Higher Education Campus of the Faculty of Architecture at Universidade de Lisboa. Sustainable actions and attitudes are part of the sustainable principles of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted in the 2030 Agenda by all member states of the United Nations. This exploratory research is based on a review of the international literature specialized in sustainability assessment in Higher Education Institutions. A qualitative research approach was applied, using a questionnaire adapted from the European University Association in 2021, as a research instrument, with the objective of knowing the perception and opinion of the Faculty of Architecture (FA) academic community on some of the collective actions of greening. Based on a survey carried out on a non-probabilistic sample selected from Campus users, a qualitative interpretation and discussion of the data obtained were performed. With this investigation, we intend to know the challenges and initiatives practiced in this Campus in defense of sustainability and contribute towards a changeover the environmental, social, and economic awareness of the campus community.

This article aimed to discuss the principles of sustainability applied to the built environment, highlighting the importance of universities as replicators of these practices. To respond to a demand from the campus for more security in the energy supply, the work proposes the implementation of a solar photovoltaic energy system. For this, it carried out an economic viability analysis through bibliographic review activities, characterization of the study area, dimensioning of photovoltaic systems, budgets, cost analysis and payback calculation. The research evaluated the system’s implementation considering two energy demands, for the entire campus and for a smaller building. It was found that the CSL-UFSJ consumes, on average, 27,300.38 kWh, at a cost of US$ 2,736. Thus, an annual savings of US$ 32,833 is calculated. The cost estimate analyzes showed a value of US$ 139,784 for the implementation of the system. The return on investment time was calculated for 4.3 and 4.9 years considering simple and discounted Payback respectively.It is estimated that the consumption of the DECEB building is 13,187.1 kWh with a cost of US$ 1,322 per month, which results in an annual savings of US$ 15,860. The cost estimate analyzes showed a value of US$ 40.601 for the implementation of the system and values of 4.3 and 4.9 years were obtained as return on investment time considering the calculations for simple and discounted Payback, respectively. The research demonstrates that the implementation of the photovoltaic solar energy generation system is feasible for both cases analyzed.

Este estudo analisa a influência dos hábitos de consumo sustentável e da consciência ambiental na intenção de compra de produtos ecológicos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa do tipo survey, desenvolvida com 299 professores que atuam na rede pública de ensino no cerrado piauiense. Na análise dados, foram aplicadas técnicas de análise descritiva, análise fatorial exploratória e regressão linear múltipla. Os resultados indicam que a intenção de compra de produtos ecológicos é influenciada pelos hábitos de consumo sustentável e pela consciência ambiental, de forma específica, pelas variáveis “produtos saudáveis” e “limite de crescimento”, indicando que os indivíduos que atribuem maior importância ao consumo de produtos saudáveis e se preocupam com os limites de produção, consumo e crescimento tendem a ter maior intenção de compra de produtos ecológicos. Ainda, verificou-se que as variáveis gênero, faixa etária, filho(s) e renda apresentaram efeito sobre a intenção de compra de produtos ecológicos. A pesquisa contribui para o campo do desenvolvimento sustentável à medida em que fomenta a discussão sobre atitudes e comportamentos sustentáveis de professores, profissionais-chave no processo de desenvolvimento de práticas de educação ambiental nos espaços escolares, contribuindo para a formação crítica e social de estudantes, com foco na sustentabilidade. Assim, este estudo ajuda a ampliar o debate acadêmico sobre o assunto em questão, motivando os pesquisadores a investigar outras questões relacionadas à sustentabilidade no contexto educacional.
