The aim of this study is to describe key-elements of patient-centred care and its relationship with interprofessional collaborative practice in Primary Health Care, in the context of Unified Health System. Based on national and international review. The outcomes show that as professionals shift their focus towards patient centred care and patient's needs, their scope of view is broadened beyond the limits of their own professional activities. This shift is an enabler for changes in the current health care model towards comprehensive care and potentially impacting the quality of services.Keywords: Patient-centred care. Primary Health Care. COMUNICAÇÃO SAÚDE EDUCAÇÃO 2016; 20(59):905-16 IntroductionThe present study analyzes patient-centered care (PCC) in interprofessional collaborative practice (ICP) following two leads: the first is a consequence of the emphasis of the health policies and of the research centers that are devoted to ICP [1][2][3][4] in PCC, highlighting its essential role in interprofessional collaboration. The current literature is also in agreement in considering the PCC as a key element in teamwork and ICP 5 .The second lead for this study comes from the fact that in spite of the agreement in the literature seeing the PCC as a competency domain of the ICP 1,6 and the existence of successful empirical outcomes related to PCC 7,8 , there is a lack of a consensual definition for PCC, hampering its implementation 9 and hindering the dialogue between national and international literature. This dialogue is central to understand how international contributions on PCC may be comparable to the user-centered approaches present in Brazilian literature.The academic publications on the issue represent PCC as a central domain for interprofessional collaboration and a core element in teamwork and ICP 5 . A PCC-oriented team is an indicator for differentiating three increasing levels of collaboration 5 (potential collaboration, collaboration in development, active collaboration and in this classification the denomination of a group as a "team" is restricted to those presenting "active collaboration", that guide their actions with the patients and their health needs in focus. MethodsTo identify the Brazilian contributions on this subject, a review was performed in BDENF, LILACS and SciELO, using as descriptor the Portuguese equivalent of "patient centered care" e.g. "assistência centrada no paciente" without timeline delimiters. The search was performed from September 2013 to February 2014, using as criteria: Studies dealing with PCC as main subject and freely available in full-text versions, excluding thesis, dissertations and books. Nº 36 Octubre 2014Página 275 ENSAYOS Del cuidado previsible al cuidado complejo de enfermería RESUMENEl estudio tiene como objetivo presentar un ensayo teórico que permite ampliar el cuidado de enfermería como un fenómeno complejo, en el cual y para el cual, a menudo, no se encuentran respuestas lineales y previsibles. Se señalan aspectos que impulsan la necesidad de adoptar nuevos modelos de pensamiento, capaces de manejar los procesos negativos y contradictorios en la vida cotidiana del ser y del hacer de la enfermería. Se trata, en resumen de la necesidad de superar la lógica de la fragmentación, de la previsibilidad, de la seguridad y el orden excesivo -de las recetas de atención -todavía presentes en las prácticas de cuidado. RESUMOObjetiva-se apresentar um ensaio reflexivo que possibilita ampliar o cuidado de enfermagem como fenômeno complexo, no qual e para o qual, frequentemente, não se tem respostas lineares e previsíveis. Sinalizam-se aspectos que direcionam para a necessidade de adotar novos modelos de pensamento, capazes de comportar os processos adversos e contraditórios no dia a dia do ser e fazer enfermagem. Discute-se, em suma, a necessidade de superar a lógica da fragmentação, da previsibilidade, da certeza e da excessiva ordem -receitas prontas de cuidado -ainda marcante nas práticas de cuidado. Objective: To understand the significance of healthy living for users, professionals and managers of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) team. Methods: Research of a qualitative nature, based on grounded theory. For data collection, interviews were conducted with 25 participants, including users, professionals and managers of a FHS team, during the period between March and December, 2009. Results: The collection and analysis of data was conducted in a systematic and comparative manner, demonstrating that healthy living can be characterized as a selforganizing process, mediated by the action of the FHS team professionals, especially by the community health agent, through creation of bonds of trust and stimulation of interactions and community associations. Conclusion: We concluded that healthy living is a singular phenomenon, complex, interactive, associative, political and social, coupled with the active involvement and participation of the users and by the engagement of effective and socially responsible professionals, managers and established political authorities. Métodos: Pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, baseada na grounded theory. Para a coleta de dados foram realizadas entrevistas com 25 participantes, dentre eles usuários, profissionais e gestores de uma equipe ESF, no período entre março e dezembro de 2009. Resultados: A coleta e a análise dos dados, conduzida de forma sistemática e comparativa, evidenciaram que o viver saudável pode ser caracterizado como um processo auto--organizador, intermediado pela atuação dos profissionais da equipe ESF, especialmente, pelo agente comunitário de saúde, por meio da criação de vínculos de confiança e estímulo às interações e associações comunitárias. Conclusão: Concluiu-se que o viver saudável é um fenômeno singular, complexo, interativo, associativo, político e social, conjugado pelo envolvimento ativo e participativo dos usuários e pelo engajamento efetivo e socialmente responsável dos profissionais, gestores e autoridades políticas instituídas.
