Construction Status of a New Spectrometer “S-2S” for Spectroscopy of Multi-Strangeness Systems at J-PARC

Abstract

A new magnetic spectrometer has been constructed for experiments on hypernuclei with strangeness = −2 at the J-PARC K1.8 beam line. It is designed to obtain excitation energy spectra of Ξ-and ΛΛ-hypernuclei with an energy resolution of better than 2 MeV (FWHM). The construction status is briefly presented.
