Knowledge sharing of health technology among clinicians in integrated care system: The role of social networks

Promoting clinicians’ knowledge sharing of appropriate health technology within the integrated care system (ICS) is of great vitality in bridging the technological gap between member institutions. However, the role of social networks in knowledge sharing of health technology is still largely unknown. To address this issue, the study aims to clarify the influence of clinicians’ social networks on knowledge sharing of health technology within the ICS. A questionnaire survey was conducted among the clinicians in the Alliance of Liver Disease Specialists in Fujian Province, China. Social network analysis was conducted using NetDraw and UCINET, and the quadratic assignment procedure (QAP) multiple regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of knowledge sharing of health technology. The results showed that the ICS played an insufficient role in promoting overall knowledge sharing, especially inter-institutional knowledge sharing. Trust, emotional support, material support, and cognitive proximity positively influenced knowledge sharing of health technology, while the frequency of interaction and relationship importance had a negative impact on it. The finding extended the research scope of social network theory to the field of healthcare and will bridge the evidence gap in the influence of the clinicians’ social networks on their knowledge sharing within the ICS, providing new ideas to boost knowledge sharing and diffusion of appropriate health technology.

China has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2060 and has employed a variety of strategies to minimize carbon emissions. As people’s support to achieve the carbon neutrality goal affects its success, this study reviewed the public’s perception of carbon neutrality via cluster analysis on microposts. The co-occurrence matrix showed 258 nodes and 3,212 ties in the carbon neutrality social network. The top five most prominent nodes were neutralized, energy, China, blue-green, and economy. The keyword like blue-green (means water and plant) illustrated the popular terminology used by mainland Weibo users and its essential role in carbon neutrality. The multidimensional scaling analysis found that there were 11 clusters in carbon neutrality. The results revealed that people’s concerns about carbon neutrality were mainly related to the environment (e.g. low carbon, sustainable, and wind power), social (e.g. country and poverty), and governance (responsibility, government report). Weibo users believed that achieving carbon-neutrality allows us to pursue a better life. Among the data collected, positive sentiment microposts (83.9%) were approximately eight times more than the negative ones (9.9%), and only 6.3% were neutral. The results indicated that most Weibo users were opitimistic on carbon neutrality.

In South Korea, industrial accidents continue to increase in frequency, with construction accidents accounting for more than a third of all industrial accidents. Specifically, by preventing fall accidents, the death rate from accidents can be reduced by 50%. Fall protection is required to prevent fall accidents, and investigating the reinforcement of the worker’s safety harness and hook fastening becomes imperative. This requires automation of computer vision confirmation of the safety harness and hook fastening. As the accident risk can be reduced by an effective safety culture in the system, it is necessary to monitor safety on site through a construction safety automation system. Therefore, the objective of this study is to develop a computer vision process for safety harness and hook for preventing fall accidents in South Korea’s construction industry. This study focuses on system scaffolds that are widely used at construction sites. The application of this methodology to sample sites and field cases established its applicability. The proposed computer vision application methodology will serve as the foundation for visualization research in the construction industry, and image recognition will help reduce the safety accident rate. Accidents caused by failure to use a safety harness and hook can be reduced in South Korea as well as globally. Additionally, this methodology is applicable to roof construction, tower crane installation and dismantling work, as well as steel tower installation and dismantling.
