Abstract: The construct of job crafting is gaining increasing attention in the research and practice of work psychology in light of the positive effects it has on workers and the organizational context. On this basis, the present study aimed to explore the associations between the Big Five personality traits and job crafting (and its subdimensions, individual job crafting and collaborative job crafting), as well as investigating the role of insight in mediating these relationships. “…(2017) found that perceived self-efficacy for teamwork and team member's positive affect were associated with daily collaborative crafting. Also, personality traits, including extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness, were positively associated with team job crafting via insight orientation, which ranged from superficial consciousness to a more complex comprehension of emotional events (Gori et al, 2021). Interestingly, the authors did not find this relationship or mediation for emotional stability, which they attributed to emotionally stable employees being less inclined to craft their jobs.…”

“…As job autonomy, empowerment and flexible work arrangements are expected to expand in the new service marketplace (Laker et al , 2022; Svicher and Di Fabio, 2021; Tuzovic and Kabadayi, 2021), FSEs’ self-initiated behavior that modifies their work and relationship boundaries is increasingly important. However, only a few studies (Gori et al , 2021; Ingusci et al , 2021; Irfan and Qadeer, 2020; Laker et al , 2022; Ren et al , 2020) have explored the role of job crafting in the new service marketplace. Expanding on this line of research, our study reveals that despite its importance in the postpandemic context, job crafting is negatively influenced by the pandemic.…”

“…Scholars highlight that in a postpandemic work environment, job crafting is a desirable behavior, characterized by job autonomy and flexible work arrangements (e.g. telework and teleconferencing; Gori et al , 2021; Ingusci et al , 2021; Irfan and Qadeer, 2020; Laker et al , 2022; Ren et al , 2020; Svicher and Di Fabio, 2021). In response to a call for additional research on job crafting in the new service marketplace (Tuzovic and Kabadayi, 2021), we examine the relationship between customer incivility, work engagement and job crafting in the postpandemic context and assess whether the negative effect of customer incivility is more pronounced in such a context.…”

“…Achieving insight is linked with increasing the ability to master symptoms (Rosenblatt, 2004), develop more adaptive behaviors (Gabbard, 2014), and improve quality of life (Gibbons et al, 2009). However, in recent years, scholars have expanded insight research beyond the boundaries of the clinical domain (Gori et al, 2021a). In this framework, researchers have highlighted the promising role of insight in the realm of Work and Organizational Psychology (Gori et al, 2021b).…”
