“…To address the shortcomings of the AQI, the concept of an air quality health index (AQHI) was first proposed in Canada to assess the effects of multiple air pollutants on health and to assess air quality (17). The AQHI has subsequently been investigated in Shanghai (18,19), Guangzhou (15), Tianjin (20), and Hong Kong (21), China.
