Constraints on vector resonances from a strong Higgs sector

Abstract: We consider a scenario of a composite Higgs arising from a strong sector. We assume that the lowest lying composite states are the Higgs scalar doublet and a massive vector triplet, whose dynamics below the compositeness scale are described in terms of an effective Lagrangian. Electroweak symmetry breaking takes place through a vacuum expectation value just as in the Standard Model, but with the vector resonances strongly coupled to the Higgs field. We determine the constraints on this scenario imposed by (i) … Show more

“…Notice that in the quasi-degenerate case, resonances with masses as light as 2000 or 2500 GeV are allowed. This is in agreement with previous studies on vector resonances [6,7,13].…”

“…This is a 1-loop process which includes the contribution of the new charged states: in our case, the new charged vector bosons V ± L and V ± R . For heavy vector bosons with moderate coupling to the Higgs boson, it is expected that this process does not deviate significantly from the SM [6,7]. This is exactly our case: the new vector bosons, as described above, are considered in the 2-4 TeV mass range .…”

“…The normalization given by (5.11) for h → γγ was also used in [76,120,[123][124][125][126][127][128]. The ratio R γγ has been measured by CMS and ATLAS collaborations with the best fit signals [129,130]: Correlations plots have been obtained to observe the behavior of the R γγ parameter as function of scalar masses and W gauge boson mass.…”

“…[188]. In our analysis we have set Λ = 3 TeV, which is a typical value for the cutoff scale in this kind of models with heavy resonances [189][190][191][192][193][194][195][196]. A detailed study of the implications of our model at colliders and dark matter goes beyond the scope of this paper and is deferred for a future work.…”
