Abstract: Boric acid is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial used to treat vulvovaginal candidiasis when patients relapse on the primary azole drug fluconazole. Candida albicans is the most common cause of vulvovaginal candidiasis, colloquially referred to as a "vaginal yeast infection".
