This paper is concerned with polynomial constitutive relations for electroelastic crystals. We generalize previous results of [1], and we emphasize the role of disjoint union decompositions in the representation problems. Our method, essentially a "group-average method"[2], provides the number of coefficients needed for the 32 crystallographic groups for polynomial relations up to degree 5.Mathematics Subject Classification (1991). 73B05, 73C30, 73R05.
