Abstract:Recurrent patellar dislocation is described as loss of joint congruence between the femoral trochlea and the articular facet of the patella after a second episode. The etiology is multifactorial, including local, rotational and dynamic anatomical factors, and there is no clarity about its real influence, despite its high incidence and clinical importance.
