Conserved currents of double field theory

Abstract: Abstract:We find the conserved current associated to invariance under generalised diffeomorphisms in double field theory. This can be used to define a generalised Komar integral. We comment on its applications to solutions, in particular to the fundamental string/ppwave. We also discuss the current in the context of Scherk-Schwarz compactifications. We calculate the current for both the original double field theory action, corresponding to the NSNS sector alone, and for the RR sector.

“…Explicitly, one sees that the internal two-metric γ αβ of the 11 = 9 + 2 split of M-theory together with its determinant can be extracted from the above line element with the help of 9 To properly think of a given solution as being a wave carrying momentum in a particular direction of the extended space, one should construct the conserved charges associated to generalised diffeomorphism invariance, as has been done in the DFT case [72][73][74].…”

“…Rather than examine probes of the background and their geodesic equation the approach we will take will be to look for solutions that have ADM type of charges. First, we should develop an ADM formalism for DFT (this has been done by a set of people [25][26][27] ). Then as expected the ADM momentum in px ν will be associated with the electric charge of the three-form field strength:…”

“…This allows the definition of the ADM mass and the Komar like integrals. The equivalent to these have been constructed in DFT in [25][26][27] so that when we refer to the momentum of the solution in DFT we are using the prescription given in these papers.…”
