Conservation and Preservation of Cultural Properties Based on Spiritual Materials

Abstract: A painting of the Buddha, which is an invaluable cultural property in both Korea and Japan, was imaged using an optical scanning and digitizing method. An enlarged replica of the Buddha imaging was prepared, and exhibited as a high-resolution image similar to the original painting. The replica, which includes a QR code or IC tag, was demonstrated as a smart material.
