“…Due to the importance of HDS and HDN processes and also economical-environmental issues associated with it, tremendous efforts have been devoted to the development of novel catalysts with high yields. NiMo and CoMo catalysts on various supports are among the most studied catalysts (Zdražil 2003;Yamamoto et al 2007;Vonortas and Papayannakos 2014;Bui et al 2015;Klimov et al 2016;Liu et al 2016;Zepeda et al 2016;Escobar et al 2017;Hajjar et al 2017a, b;Maximov et al 2017;Xu et al 2017;Zhou et al 2017).…”

“…An ordered mesoporous NiMo-Al 2 O 3 catalyst was prepared by Liu et al (2016) for HDS of dibenzothiophene and they reported the Ni/Mo molar ratio of 1:1 for high HDS activity. Klimov et al (2016) prepared a CoNiMo/ Al 2 O 3 catalyst for deep HDT of vacuum gas oil and found that the catalyst with 1.8% Co, 1.2% Ni and 10% Mo has the highest activity in hydrotreating of vacuum gas oil. Mendoza-Nieto et al (2015) studied the effect of support on the catalytic performance of NiMoW in HDS of dibenzothiophenes; they used SBA-15 silica and conventional gamma-alumina as catalyst support and reported that the best dispersion of Mo and W species was obtained on SBA-15, which showed the highest HDT performance.…”

“…Impregnated catalysts were dried at 120°C and calcined at 550°C. NiMo/Al 2 O 3 catalyst, which was used as a first layer in a stacked bed, was prepared using similar impregnation solution but without calcination after drying at 120°C [8]. Ni and Mo content in NiMo/Al 2 O 3 catalyst was 3.7 and 12.5 wt% respectively.…”
