CoNi alloy nanoparticles for cancer theranostics: synthesis, physical characterization, in vitro and in vivo studies

Abstract: Nanomaterials are attracting increasing interest in many biomedical fields, including the fight against cancer. In this context, we successfully synthesized CoNi alloy nanoparticles (NPs) by a simple polyol process. The magnetic characteristics of the products were measured by vibration sample magnometry, which revealed that the samples have soft ferromagnetic behavior. The microstructure and morphology were inspected by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Human cancer cells deriv… Show more

“…Multipurpose nanotechnology-based plans with diagnostic imaging and targeted treatment roles have been among the most debated topics in the nanomedical research field [ 69 , 70 , 71 , 72 , 73 ]. Lately, much effort has been put into developing novel nano-based systems for theranostic purposes against BC.…”

“…Magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) consisting of iron, gadolinium, manganese, and other metals are widely studied for biomedical applications, e.g., drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or visualization with magnetic spectral approaches [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]. However, independently of doping metals (Mn, Co, and Ni), most magnetic NPs are iron oxide based.…”

“…Traditional tumour treatment approaches including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation each have their own set of issues such as multidrug resistance, poor patient status after surgery and so on ( Chang et al, 2020 ; Liu et al, 2020 ; Liu et al, 2021a ). The development of nanotechnology has opened up new opportunities for the cancer treatment ( Xie et al, 2019 ; Yang et al, 2020 ; Almanghadim et al, 2021 ; Sargazi et al, 2021 ). Targeting specific tumour microenvironments (weak acidity, hypoxia, high content of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 )) with diverse nano systems can effectively remove malignancies ( Zhu et al, 2022a ).…”
