Conformal multi-Regge theory

Miguel S. Costa,
Vasco Gonçalves,
Aaditya Salgarkar
et al.

Abstract: We propose and explore the Regge limit for correlation functions of five local primary operators in conformal field theories. After reviewing some features of Regge theory for flat-space scattering amplitudes, we analyze the analytic structure of conformal blocks both in position and Mellin space in the Regge limit and propose an extension of conformal Regge theory for five-point functions. As a byproduct of our analysis we also introduce a new basis of three-point correlation functions for operators with spin… Show more

“…Since we treat particles of arbitrary spin, another natural avenue for applications are theories involving strings [61,62], or string-like objects. Perhaps more interestingly, it is noted that partial waves for spinning 2 → 2 scattering are sufficient to construct multi-particle partial waves for scalars -the latter are simply the products of the former (see [63] for a recent review and references to original literature). Therefore, the present work paves the way for analysis of processes involving more than four particles.…”

“…Over the past few years, some preliminary steps were made in the attempt to bootstrap higher-point correlation functions, both numerically [14] and analytically [15][16][17][18][19][20]. An immediate obstruction to bootstrapping higher-point correlators is the lack of ready availability JHEP05(2024)299 of higher-point conformal blocks.…”
