Abstract

A grassroots movement is a community-based effort as the basis for a political, economic, or environmental undertaking. Grassroots organizations use collective action from the local level to achieve a common objective on a larger scale. Grassroots movements are associated with bottom-up, rather than top-down decision making (much like how grass grows), and are sometimes considered more natural or spontaneous than more traditional power structures. 1 Contemporary His bundle pacing (HBP) was first described by Deshmukh et al. in 2000, showing feasibility in 12 patients from his electrophysiology laboratory in Sayre, PA. 2 Since then, investigators from various seemingly siloed pockets of the world have advanced the field of HBP with iterative procedural enhancements while championing its utilization and investigation.
