Conductas sexuales por sexo en población universitaria chilena que demanda test rápido de VIH

Abstract: Objetivo: Caracterizar por sexo una población universitaria que accedió voluntariamente a una prueba de detección rápida del virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH). Método: Estudio analítico de 3864 universitarios/as. “…National studies in 2018 indicated that 2.7% of Chileans between 20 and 24 years old acknowledged having received an STI diagnosis (23), which is lower than our nding. However, another nationwide study found a 7.5% prevalence of self-reported STI diagnosis among university students (10), which is similar to our study but lower than the prevalence found among young people in Ethiopia, where the prevalence was 18.2% (24). It is important to emphasize the need to study the factors associated with STI transmission in the university population, which, as previously mentioned, is a high-risk group, rather than solely focusing on isolated prevalences.…”
