Condition Monitoring of Wear Progress in Hydrostatic Pumps

Abstract: This paper represents a practical methodology for monitoring the wear in the displacement elements in hydrostatic pumps. The technique is based on appropriate signal processing of the output pressure wave which reflects the geometrical changes in the internal parts. The geometry deviates in case of wear and the degree of deviation can be spatially analyzed to gain an indicator to the wear progress.
