Condition monitoring of viscous liquids using microsensors

Abstract: Vibrating microsensors offer possibilities for the monitoring of viscous substances in industrial processes online. In this contribution we review our recent work on suitable sensing technologies and the associated impact in terms of the probed rheological domains. Furthermore, selected applications, i.e. the sensing of engine oil and the monitoring of zeolite synthesis aboard the ISS are described.
