Concurrent chemoradiotherapy with nedaplatin in patients with stage IIA to IVA cervical carcinoma

Abstract: Abstract. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and toxicities of nadaplatin-based concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in patients with stage IIA to IVA cervical carcinoma. Patients with an International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage IIA to IVA cervical carcinoma were treated with nadaplatin-based CCRT, using high-dose rate intracavitary brachytherapy (HDR-ICBT) or radiotherapy (RT) alone, in patients with FIGO stage IIA to IVA cervical carcinoma. “…Reported side effects include nausea, vomiting, anorexia, alopecia, and nephrotoxicity. There are reports suggesting that nedaplatin in combination with chemoradiation therapy for cervical cancer does not differ in efficacy from cisplatin and may show reduced nephrotoxicity compared with cisplatin 3,4 . Therefore, nedaplatin is listed as an alternative drug in Japanese guidelines when renal function is impaired 5…”
