Concerto in B-flat for Cembalo and Strings

Abstract: Christoph Schaffrath, a member of the Kapelle of Frederick the Great and a chamber musician to Princess Anna Amalia, was highly respected in Berlin as a composer, harpsichordist, and teacher. The Concerto in B-flat contains two ornamented versions of the slow movement which are rare examples of the elaborate melodic embellishment practiced by German composers.
