RESUMENEl presente estudio examina las cencerradas atendiendo, en primer lugar, a las actas de procesos judiciales, las noticias de prensa y las obras literarias que contienen referencias a esta manifestación cultural. Según se deduce de este análisis, el corpus literario transmitido a través de la escritura tiene un carácter incompleto y desvirtuado, que evidencia la necesidad de estudiar el género a partir de las muestras orales. A este respecto, se plantean algunas observaciones metodológicas relacionadas con las investigaciones de campo y el contexto en el que se incardinan las composiciones analizadas, para destacar seguidamente el enfoque satírico de las composiciones orales, así como su tipología textual -conformada por una modalidad dialogada-y una segunda manifestación en la que un sujeto poético toma la voz para formular una condena social en nombre de la comunidad a la que pertenece.Palabras clave: Cencerradas; Literatura oral; Oralidad; Erotismo; Sátira; Diálogo. SUMMARYThe present paper deals with the study of the Spanish rough music known as cencerradas, an oral literary composition that, due to its erotic and offensive content (they were often composed to ridicule «censurable» marriages), is barely documented in Spanish. Firstly, we will describe the written texts in which cencerradas are mentioned or where they are partially or fully recorded (in newspapers, literary texts, and legal proceedings), in order to show that this written register offers only an incomplete and deficient corpus that needs to be expanded and improved by means of fieldwork and documentation. Secondly, a number of cencerradas from oral records will be analysed in detail, paying special attention to their contents and formal aspects. This will allow us to distinguish between two types of cencerradas: dialogue cencerradas and individual cencerradas, in which an individual representing the voice of the community condemns acts considered censurable.
