Abstract:The retention of polar pharmaceutical active compounds (PPhACs) by nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes is of paramount importance in membrane separation processes. The retention of 21 PPhACs was correlated using computational intelligence techniques (feedforward neural networks multi-layer perceptron, feedforward neural networks radial basis function, and support vector machines). A database of 541 retention values has been collected from the literature. The results showed a high training an… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
