“…They posit that employing more than one language in instruction can acclimate students, mitigating surprise when communicating with individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds. This methodology not only facilitates linguistic adaptability but also aligns with scholarly research (Baso and Agussalim 2021). Exposure to varied languages in the educational setting not only augments language proficiency but also fosters increased cultural sensitivity and open-mindedness (Chen et al 2020;Sabirova and Khanipova 2019;Tompo, Sahraini, and Magfirah Thayyib 2023).…”
This study explores the intricate dynamics of multilingualism within the Bugis language context and its impact on English Language Teaching (ELT) at UPT SP SDN 251 Pae-Pae. With a focus on the Bugis community in Indonesia, the research delves into the complexities of language interaction in daily life and the teaching process. The Bugis language, embedded in rich cultural heritage, coexists with Indonesian and English, presenting a unique multilingual tapestry. The study employs a qualitative case study approach, including in-depth interviews with an English teacher. Findings reveal variations in language use within the family, community, and classroom contexts. Challenges arise in understanding nuanced meanings between languages, particularly in higher grades. The English teacher supports a multilingualism approach in teaching, emphasizing its role in enhancing students' adaptability and cultural sensitivity. The study contributes valuable insights to the broader discourse on language education and multilingualism in a globalized world, affirming the significance of a multilingual pedagogical approach in preparing students for diverse communication scenarios.

Local language is a representation of cultural identity. Apart of being used as communication tools, local language also contains valuable values and local language. Central Kalimantan has a lot of undocumented local language, etiher conventially, let alone digitally. The purposes of this research is to provide a digital vocabulaty of Dayak Lawangan in Central Kalimantan. The stages in Rapid Application Develoment (RAD) method was adopted to build the application. The method was chosen because it is suitable for the lack of development time but it still can provide a precise and complies with the stages of making an application. With this applicatioin, it is hoped that the existence of local language of Dayak Lawangan community can be well documented in order to maintain the diversity.
“…This hypertext-based Lontara application has been adapted to the characteristics of the Lontara script itself. In addition, the characteristics of software, hardware, and human ware are still considered (Baso, 2018); (Baso & Agussalim, 2021). Muhammad Sabri in his research on car-based Lontara Bugis Makassar script learning applications created an application that has the feature of being able to scan catalogs, quizzes/games, hear the pronunciation/mention of letters or sentences, and wise words.…”
At this time it is known that many children, especially students, have played games, both through computers and mobile phones. Students think that games can fill their spare time. The use of media that involves technology can affect student achievement and motivation, one of which is game play. The background of the research is that learning in schools still uses learning methods that use guidebook media, which causes a lack of interest and attention from students to take part in ongoing learning, for that it is necessary to develop an educational game that can be used as a medium of learning and can motivate students to be interested in study. The purpose of making 3D animation game applications for learning lontara script is so that students can easily understand and be interested in learning lontara script. The system development method used is waterfall starting from data collection, system analysis, application design, system testing and implementation. Black-box testing method that focuses on the functional requirements of the software. The programming language used is the Visual C programming language. With the application of the 3D animation game for learning the Lontara script, it is hoped that it can provide information and help students understand and be interested in learning the Lontara script.
