Abstract:A method is developed for the computer-aided design of switched attenuators with high precision. The attenuators are used in such instruments as, e.g., noise figure meter sets where calibrated attenuations with an error 0.01 dB are required. The method allows us to design these precise attenuators. The method is applied to the example case design of two attenuators with 6 dB switched attenuation at 20 MHz.
