Abstract:Statistical epistasis has been studied extensively because of its potential to provide evidence for genetic interactions for phenotypes, but there have been methodological limitations to its exhaustive, widespread application. We present new algorithms for the interaction coefficients for standard regression models for epistasis that permit many varied encodings for the interaction terms for loci and efficient memory usage. The algorithms are given for two-way and three-way epistasis and may be generalized to … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
