Computational and Experimental Design of the Octahedral PdFe Alloy Nanocatalyst for Hiyama Cross-Coupling and Environmental Pollutant Degradation

Abstract: The research on various bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs) is rapidly expanding due to their widespread applications. However, the formation of bimetallic nanostructures in a facile way remains challenging. In the present study, an octahedral (Oh) PdFe alloy nanostructure was designed by following an aqueous medium synthesis strategy. Different metal precursor ratios were varied to observe the change in the shape and distribution of the Oh PdFe alloy nanostructure. Surprisingly, increasing the Fe content directed … Show more

“…Initially, the monodispersed bimetallic Pd X Cu Y Oh alloy is formed by following a modified technique from our earlier work. , In a typical reaction process, initially, 20 mM H 2 PdCl 4 and CuCl 2 are prepared as the standard solution. To prepare H 2 PdCl 4 from metal salt, 0.345 g of PdCl 2 is added with the addition of 19.5 mL of 0.2 M conc.…”

“…In the current report, a standard C s value of 0.04 mF/cm 2 has been used for 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 solution depending on the previous report. 6 With varied scan rates (30,40,50, and 70 mV/s) in the potential window of 0.1−0.6 V, CV is measured in 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 for this purpose. Figure S2a−e displays the developed CV polarization curves of the standard and synthesized electrocatalysts such as Pt/C, Pd 3 Cu 7 , Pd 3 Cu 7 @GONs, ZrO 2 @Pd 3 Cu 7 , and Pd 3 Cu 7 @hBNNs, respectively.…”
