Computational and Communication Infrastructure Challenges for Resilient Cloud Services

Abstract: Fault tolerance and the availability of applications, computing infrastructure, and communications systems during unexpected events are critical in cloud environments. The microservices architecture, and the technologies that it uses, should be able to maintain acceptable service levels in the face of adverse circumstances. In this paper, we discuss the challenges faced by cloud infrastructure in relation to providing resilience to applications. Based on this analysis, we present our approach for a software pl… Show more

“…Postman specializes in creating hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) requests and provides an option to save the request and response [23]. To control the path of data, a single gateway is used for all services [24]. The API involves a request that uses parameters as a querying entity to get some results from the service [25].…”

“…The latest research concentrates on the Publish-Subscribe messaging pattern. In that area, Martinez et al [5] introduce a new version of the pattern, which uses Kubernetes containers for microservices orchestration. Moreover, Zhong et al [6] present the pattern's specialization in which subscribers receive paired objects instead of separate ones.…”

“…The first part is related to the availability of cloud layer, which is the sustainability of cloud data centers and their networking. This part has been investigated by scholars over the years as surveyed in [3], [4], and [5]. Different mechanisms were incorporated to improve the availability of cloud computing such as hot migration, load balancing, resource management, and traffic management.…”
