Comprehensive characterisation of polyphenols in leaves and stems of three anti‐dengue virus type‐2 active Brazilian Faramea species (Rubiaceae) by HPLC‐DAD‐ESI‐MS/MS

Abstract: This research allowed a detailed phenolic composition of three bioactive Faramea species to be achieved, thus contributing to the study of this genus and providing valuable information for further phytotherapeutic applications.

“…The fragmentation of [M þ H] þ ion of vicenin-2 seems to be complicated, however, it has been already described in details by Abad-Garc ıa et al 40 The relative abundances of the product ions shown in Figure 1 match very well the relative abundances reported by Wolff et al and are in acceptable agreement with the other data concerning the fragmentation of [M þ H] þ ion of vicenin-2. 27,28,40,41 The second flavone C-glycoside, detected in both Prunus avium and Prunus cerasus, was identified as apigenin 6-C-glucoside (isovitexin). Its exemplary product ion spectra are shown in Figure 2 (the other product ion spectra are shown in supplementary material, Figure 10s, 11s).…”

“…As previously proposed, 58 The polyphenolic and glycoalkaloid profiles of the different parts of S. nigrum L. were characterised using UHPLC-QE-HRMS. As shown in Table 2, the distribution of polyphenolics and glycoalkaloids varied in different parts.…”

“…The optimum cone voltages were those which produced the maximum intensity for protonated molecule [M+H] + and protonated aglycone ion [Y0] + in the previous MS experiments. Phenolic standards were supplied as previously described (Wolff et al 2019). All stock standard solutions (in concentrations ranging from 300 to 2700 μg mL -1 , depending on each phenolic compound, were prepared in MeOH.…”
