Comprehensive Analysis of the Control of Cancer Stem Cell Characteristics in Endometrial Cancer by Network Analysis

Abstract: Background. Cancer stem cells play an important role in endometrial cancer (EC). It is closely related to self-renewal and therapeutic resistance of EC. Methods. In this study, WGCNA (weighted gene coexpression network analysis) was used to analyze the relationship between genes and clinical features. We also performed immune cell infiltration analysis of a key module by using ImmuCellAI (Immune Cell Abundance Identifier). Then, key genes were verified in the GEO database. Finally, causal relationship analysis… Show more

“…The OCLR extracts transcriptomic (mRNA expression) and epigenetic (DNA methylation pattern) features originated from non-transformed pluripotent stem cells and their differentiated progeny. This cancer stemness feature has been widely used in the computational biological analysis ( Liu et al, 2021 ; Wang et al, 2021 ). Given that ferroptosis is a crucial regulator of tumor heterogeneity ( Li et al, 2021 ), we calculated the Spearman correlation between the cancer stemness indexes (RNA stemness score, RNAss; DNA stemness score, DNAss) and each FRPSG to explore whether FRGs influence cancer stemness ( P < 0.05).…”

“…In addition, one study revealed that SGO2 might be related to the expression of meiosis-specific cancer testis antigens. Moreover, SGO2 was confirmed to associate with endogenous cancer by a weighted gene co-expression network analysis [24,27,36]. Cell Division Cycle Associated (CDCA) family genes were proven to be associated with survival in HCC patients with the hepatitis virus or alcohol consumption.…”

“…It is often overexpressed in different tumor tissues, such as gastric cancer [24]. Moreover, some researchers have discovered that SGO2 may be combined with other genes to participate in partial tumor occurrences and developments in recent years [26,27]. However, the biological function of SGO2 in HCC remains unclear.…”

“…In recent decades, a large amount of evidence have shown that ORC is involved in other biological processes, such as heterochromatin formation, cytokinesis, viral replication, DNA damage repair, cognitive impairment and radiation in ammatory response [4][5][6][7][8][9] . ORCs are also differentially expressed in a number of tumors, such as gliomas 10 , endometrial cancer 11 , colon cancer [12][13][14] , gastric cancer 15,16 , liver cancer 17 , esophageal cancer 18 , and lung cancer 19 . They are implicated in diverse biological processes, including cell proliferation, migration, invasion, tumor stem cell maintenance, and chemotherapy resistance [11][12][13][19][20][21][22] .…”
