Comprehensive analysis of circRNAs from cashmere goat skin by next generation RNA sequencing (RNA-seq)

Abstract: circular RnA (circRnA) is endogenous non-coding RnA (ncRnA) with a covalently closed circular structure. it is mainly generated through RnA alternative splicing or back-splicing. circRnA is known in the majority of eukaryotes and very stable. However, knowledge of the circRnA involved in regulating cashmere fineness is limited. Skin samples were collected from Liaoning cashmere goats (LCG) and Inner Mongolia cashmere goats (MCG) during the anagen period. For differentially expressed circRNAs, RNA sequencing wa… Show more

“…Zheng et al. (2020) identified 13,320 circRNAs from skin samples of Liaoning cashmere goats and Inner Mongolia cashmere goats during the anagen period and found 32 circRNAs of these identified were found to be differential expression. Result indicated some circRNAs might be involved in regulation of cashmere fineness.…”

“…In another recent study, Zhao et al. (2020) detected the expression profiles of circRNAs in skin tissue from AFWS at embryonic day 90, embryonic day 120 and Birth. They identified 8,753 circRNAs, of which 918 were found to be differentially expressed.…”

“…GO analysis (http://www.geneontology.org) was applied to understand the corresponding host genes of differentially expressed circRNAs. Likewise, following the annotation of the KEGG (http://www.kegg.jp/kegg), [20,21] we disclosed the significant pathways connected with differentially expressed circRNAs.…”

“…Studies suggest that circRNA may be involved in mammalian growth and differentiation and cancer 13 . In the past, few studies have shown that circRNA regulates the fineness of cashmere, nowadays, there is new evidence that circRNA may regulate the growth of cashmere 14 .…”
