Comprehensive Analysis and Design of LLC Resonant Converter With Magnetic Control

Abstract: Conventionally, LLC resonant converter adopts frequency control (FC) or combine FC with phase shift control (PSC) to regulate the output voltage. However, for both control strategies, a variable switching frequency operation range is required, which makes the magnetic component and driver circuit design complicated. In this paper, the magnetic control (MC) or variable inductor control is adopted for the LLC resonant converter. Thanks to MC, constant switching frequency and duty cycle can be implemented for the… Show more

“…To show the superiority of the proposed DCT, the maximum efficiency, control complexity to ensure the desired M, and cost are compared with existing converters, as summarized in Table 2. It can be seen that by comparing with the converters in References 7,12,24,27‐33, the proposed DCT can ensure the highest efficiency while guaranteeing the simple control and low cost.…”

“…As aforementioned, decreasing output voltage ripple and switching noise of the power supplies improve phase stability of the magnetron These requirements can be met by increasing switching frequency of the power supplies and applying an output low pass filter (LPF). In this paper, resonant converter widely used in high frequency applications due to zero voltage switching (ZVS) characteristic, is adapted [40]- [42]. Reduced switching losses enable power supplies to operate at high switching frequency and to decrease switching noise.…”
