Compounds from the Roots of Codonopsis pilosula and Their SIRT1 Regulatory Activity

Abstract: Two new compounds, pilosuloside A (1) and pilosulain A (2), one new natural occurring compound (3), and twelve known compounds (4-15), were isolated from the roots of Codonopsis pilosula. Their structures were elucidated by a combination of spectroscopic methods. Regulation of SIRT1 activity by all the compounds was evaluated. The results showed that 4 could activate SIRT1 in a concentration-dependent manner.
