“…Meanwhile, the surface potentials of TiO 2 and TiO 2 /Cu 2 O-0.5 are measured using scanning probe microscopy (SPM) on a highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) substrate, as shown in Figures 5 D and 5H. The work function range obtained by selecting the electric potential with negative and positive potentials in the image through Equation 1 40 is consistent with the calculated value by DFT. According to the free energy step diagram in Figure 5 I, the free energy of the Cu 2 O/TiO 2Ov sample decreased by 0.088 eV compared to the perfect TiO 2 in the ∗CO 2 to ∗COOH step, indicating that Cu 2 O/TiO 2Ov has better catalytic performance.…”

“…The more uniform distribution of the Al element with increased pre-strain leads to more uniform formation of Al 2 O 3 . However, it is observed that the 25% pre-strained alloy generates more NiO in the β phase than the 5% pre-strained alloy (Figure 9b 2 ,c 2 ) and NiO has a weak protective effect on the matrix [46]. As described above, for the alloy with pre-strain of 5%, the pre-strain process does not only inhibit the formation of NiO and NiFe 2 O 4 but also promotes the uniform formation of protective Al 2 O 3 , which positively contributes to its antioxidant properties.…”
