“…The Mo-O bond lengths and O-Mo-O angles, obtained by structure determination from powder diffraction data and then refined using a total energy minimization approach (Tables 2 and 4), are in both cases well within the ranges characteristic for similar structures (cf. Zhang et al, 2004;Nelson et al, 2007;Guillou & Fé rey, 1999;Dessapt et al, 2010) and can formally be assigned to one of the three groups reflecting different types of O-atom placement within the polyanion. Using (I) as an example, the shortest bond lengths (1.697-1.728 Å ) correspond to the terminal Mo O bonds (atoms O3, O4 and O7), while the medium (1.870-1.997 Å ) and long bonds (2.164-2.598 Å ) include 2 (atoms O1, O2 and O6) and 3 (atoms O5 and O8) types of O atoms, bound to one, two or three Mo atoms, respectively.…”
