Composite Hemostat Spray Seals Post-Surgical Blood Burst and Ameliorates Bacteria-Arised Inflammation for Expediting Wound Healing

Abstract: Postoperative bleeding and infection are the main causes of death. Although a commercial zeolite-represented hemostatic agent has been widely used, zeolite-induced thermal damages to tissues are unresolved, and antibacterial and wound healing are desirably demanded but challenging. Herein, a composite zeolite-based hemostat spray consisting of Ag-doped β zeolite (Ag-βZ) and coupled fibrinogen/thrombin (F/T) has been developed to seal postsurgical blood burst. Systematic experiments reveal that the F/T can be s… Show more

“…ROS, a crucial second messenger in cells, is associated with enhanced inflammatory signaling and reduced bioavailability of NO, resulting in metabolic disorders, hypertension, and age-related vascular complications . ROS can uncouple eNOS and induce superoxide synthesis instead of NO, thereby reducing NO synthesis, impairing endothelium-dependent vasodilation, and promoting endothelial inflammation and thrombosis during aging. , Hyperglycemia in diabetes, especially postprandial glucose fluctuations, is closely related to oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction.…”

“…Their applications span drug or cell delivery systems, biosensors, and regenerative medicine. 30 Upon water absorption, the hydrophilic groups within hydrogels expand, establishing a stable network structure suitable for serving as a delivery platform for bioactive substances or pharmaceuticals. Remarkably, the 3D network of hydrogels can mimic the extracellular matrix (ECM) environment, promoting the growth and survival of encapsulated cells.…”
