Compliance with surgical antibiotic prophylaxis guidelines : a prospective descriptive study at a tertiary level hospital in Cape Town, South Africa

Abstract: Background: The aim of surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP) is to prevent surgical site infection (SSI) by administering an appropriate antimicrobial agent perioperatively.
